January 3, 2022 | Week 69 in the field | Foxborough, MS | Foxborough Ward | Elder Uhlig

Hi everyone my parents suggested i make one of my new years resolutions to send my weekly email weekly! So here we are! Lot to update yall on so sit tight:) First we had transfers a little while back and i found out i was training again and my guy was coming from Germany! So we have been together for a couple weeks now and his English is pretty good! They also have a lot of cool and different traditions in Germany like they open all their presents on Christmas eve or eating their main meal at lunch instead of dinner (which is much more healthy by the way) We had an awesome Christmas, i was able to open gifts with my family and visit with members and even went caroling with other missionaries. Its gotten pretty cold here but not really a lot of snow in fact its mostly rainy nevertheless were still out there knocking doors and talking to people! I also wanted to share a cool insight that has changed my mission. I was with one of my companions (right before my comp from Germany) and i was about to break one of the small mission rules that i thought was a dumb and unnecessary rule. But he said, "Elder lets just follow it, i know its not that important but we get blessings as we follow all the standards. You want more blessings dont you?" As i thought about it, it wasnt a difficult rule to follow and i did want more blessings. This applies with all the rules and standards and commandments we are given and even the hard ones as we follow bless us so much. It has changed my mission and helped me find even great joy in the work! Anyways hope yall have a blessed week

Love elder hassell
